First Quarter 2025 Update
with Tony Evans, Founder of TES
The first quarter of 2025 has been an incredibly busy and productive one! Our teams across all departments have worked tirelessly to manage the increased shift demands, and we are thrilled to welcome our new colleagues from the Possession Management (PM) Department in Sussex, which officially launched on 28 February 2025. Their first week was a resounding success, with all shifts fully covered and zero accidents or incidents— a fantastic achievement.
Expanding our footprint in the southern region, we are excited to announce the opening of a new office in Horley. This strategic move strengthens our presence and enhances our ability to serve clients in the area.
Our Client Services Director, Gary Desmond, has been actively engaging with clients to better understand their needs and explore how we can provide greater support moving forward. Additionally, the introduction of Level A Procedure A and Level B Strapping and Switching has opened new doors for our Training Department, reinforcing our commitment to continuous development. We recognize the importance of maintaining high competency standards and delivering exceptional mentoring, which is why we are investing in additional trainers and assessors to support our operational teams. Across our regional teams, efforts remain strong. Our North East team has been diligently keeping up with glide path figures, while our P-Way team continues to grow.
We are proud to celebrate the success of our latest bootcamp delegates, who have completed their training—congratulations to all involved! Meanwhile, our Anglia department is actively recruiting, with a new entrant bootcamp planned for April. If you know anyone who might be interested in joining the industry, please reach out to our P&C team.
Our Projects Team has also had an exceptionally demanding quarter, skilfully balancing multiple client requirements while delivering on re-railing and defect orders—no small feat, but one they continue to manage with excellence. In Isolations, we have been fully compliant as a leading early adopter of SAI (read more about this in our Dec 2024 OnTrack issue), along with working hard on the AP development plan. Further highlighting our operational success, we recently delivered enabling works at Stowmarket Rail Station during Weekend 42, ensuring seamless execution of the Overhead Line (OHL) works.
A Huge Thank You
A huge thank you goes out to our Support Services Teams (Fleet, IT, P&C, SHEQ, Finance, and Payroll) for their dedication during the Sussex mobilisation period. On top of their daily responsibilities, they ensured that all necessary equipment was delivered, and most importantly, that everyone was paid on time.
Their efforts did not go unnoticed, and we truly appreciate their hard work. And a massive thank you to each and every one of you for your hard work, commitment, and dedication. Here’s to another successful quarter ahead!
And Finally...
In addition to our operational achievements, we remain dedicated to enhancing social value initiatives. We recently hosted a STEM Kids event during the February half-term, engaging and inspiring the children of TES staff in the Anglia region. Looking ahead, we will continue to offer volunteering opportunities, and we encourage anyone involved in community initiatives or with sponsorship requests to reach out. Finally, we are always looking to bring new talent into the industry. If you have friends or family members interested in exploring opportunities with us, please get in touch.
