Founder

Tony founded TES in 1994, drawing on his leadership experience in the offshore oil and gas industry and the emergency fire service. From day one, his vision was clear: to build a business that prioritised safety, innovation, and people. Over three decades later, that vision continues to shape TES’s culture and reputation.

A true entrepreneur, Tony remains actively involved, bringing energy, insight, and a hands-on approach to everything he does. His leadership has guided TES through sustained growth and industry change, earning the company its place as a trusted partner across the UK rail industry.

Tony’s impact goes far beyond commercial success. He has supported the development of countless careers, mentoring individuals at every level and fostering a culture where people thrive. His commitment to integrity, loyalty, and community has created a workplace where many return time and again—a testament to the values he instilled from the start.

Meet the Leader

Bianca Molloy
Managing Director

Bianca joined TES in 2017 and was appointed Joint Managing Director in 2025 after a decade of progressive leadership in HR and operations. She began her career in HR in 2012 after completing a BSc (Hons) in Psychology going on to complete a MA in Personnel and Human Resource Management, and has since achieved Level 7 Chartered CIPD status. She is currently working towards a Senior Leader ILM qualification, further enhancing her leadership expertise.

As Joint Managing Director, Bianca combines strategic vision with a deep understanding of compliance, risk management, and operational delivery. She has successfully led major tenders, contract management, and company-wide initiatives, ensuring TES consistently meets the highest safety and performance standards.

Her leadership style is collaborative and empowering, enabling her teams to excel while embedding a strong culture of accountability and support. She is a passionate advocate for Social Value, Mental Health, Women in Rail, Neurodiversity, and Sustainability, and believes that putting people first is the foundation of long-term success.

Bianca is also a strong believer in the role of technology and innovation in shaping the future of rail, embracing creative solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, and sustainability. Known for her resilience and problem-solving ability, she navigates complex challenges with composure and foresight.

Away from work, Bianca is deeply committed to her family, drawing strength and balance from her home life. She believes that maintaining this balance is key to leading with authenticity and bringing out the best in others.

Meet the Analyst

Susan Powell
Finance Director

Susan joined TES in 2017 and brings over 20 years of post-qualification experience to her role as Finance Director. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and Big 4 trained, she has held senior finance positions across rail, recruitment, and IT sectors, giving her a deep understanding of both industry and financial strategy.

At TES, Susan has full responsibility for Financial Reporting and Control, Budgeting, Treasury, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and IT. Technically gifted and commercially astute, she has transformed the finance function into a strategic powerhouse—introducing live data reporting and real-time financial insights that have revolutionised decision-making across the business.

Susan’s leadership has brought clarity, rigour, and innovation to TES’s financial operations. Her ability to simplify complexity and drive meaningful change ensures the business remains agile, accountable, and well-positioned for sustainable growth. She is a trusted voice at board level and a key force behind TES’s continued success.

Meet the Fixer

Paul Ambler
Operations Director

Paul Ambler was appointed Operations Director in July 2024, whilst having been with TES 2000 since 2012.

Paul joined the organisation as a member of our OHL Construction Team and was quickly promoted to the position of Overhead Construction Manager, growing a team of highly skilled OLE personnel at our offices in Peterborough and Colchester. The OHL Construction team were integral for TES securing the company's Principal Contractors Licence.

In 2021, Paul was further promoted to the position of Head of Electrification which saw him take responsibility for both the OLE and Isolation teams.

His hard work, dedication and technical expertise have been invaluable to our growth which was recognised and rewarded with an appointment to the Board of Directors, taking responsibility for all Operational Departments within the organisation.

Meet the Mentor

Allan Evans
Training Director

Starting his railway journey in June 1999 as a Trackworker, our Training Director has seen it all, progressing through roles like Senior PICOP before taking the helm of our training department. This extensive frontline experience gives him a unique and invaluable perspective.

His move into training and assessing was a natural step, driven by a genuine passion for mentoring and coaching others. He thrives on sharing his deep industry knowledge and igniting that same love for learning in our teams.

Always keen to grow, he's currently expanding his understanding of the commercial and financial sides of the business. Outside of work, you'll find him enjoying a round of golf, fishing, watching football, or simply spending quality time outdoors with his family.

Meet the Connector

Gary Desmond
Client Services Director

Gary Desmond began his railway career in 1980 and has become a well-respected figure across the industry. With a strong background in maintenance, project renewals, and Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) construction, he has played a key role in delivering some of the UK’s most complex rail infrastructure projects. Gary’s extensive network—built over four decades—means he’s known and trusted by colleagues and clients alike. As Client Services Director at TES 2000 LTD, he brings people together, builds lasting relationships, and ensures projects are delivered with professionalism, collaboration, and care.
