Continued Compliance with Paul Ambler, Operations Director
It’s been a busy quarter at TES. In August, we successfully completed our ISO audit, and we’re proud to have retained our 9001, 14001, and 45001 accreditations. A huge thank you to all the teams who contributed, your hard work and attention to detail made this possible.
We also passed our Principal Contractors Licence (PCL) audit with flying colours Thanks to the projects team for mobilising at short notice and ensuring all planning and paperwork was in order along with the necessary welfare requirements . TES has proudly held the PCL since 2016, and this continued success reflects the strength, capability, and consistency of our operational teams and give’s TES the opportunity to tender and deliver subcontracted packages of work.
The new TES website officially launched on 1st August 2025! If you haven’t had a chance to explore it yet, now’s the time, it’s full of useful information about TES. We’re also planning to add more content and new pages in 2026, so stay tuned.
Operationally, the challenges of CP7 continue to make shift planning unpredictable, this is partly due to late notice requests and late cancellations. Some weeks we’re delivering up to 1,400 shifts, while others see numbers closer to 1,100. I appreciate the time and effort the teams have to go through.
Take 5, stay focused and vigilant
We’ve seen an increase in incidents recently. These have been caused by a variety of factors, but it’s a timely reminder of how crucial it is to stay focused and vigilant. If you’re ever unsure about anything, remember: Take 5. You always have my backing to check, check again, and check once more until you fully understand the plan. Our Work Safe procedure exists to protect you — please use it.
to ensure we deliver these works safely and in a professional manner. The TES Board is working hard to bring in new opportunities and broaden our client base to support more stable workloads.
To ensure the teams are aligned, our Delivery Managers now meet every Tuesday to discuss any shortfalls and plan ahead. A special thank you to the management teams and Carley, whose efforts have been instrumental in keeping work within TES and avoiding reliance on agencies or outsourcing.
Get involved
Making a positive difference is at the heart of what we do, whether that’s reducing our environmental impact, supporting local communities, or contributing to a more sustainable future. If you have ideas, initiatives, or opportunities to help us do more in these areas, please speak to Carley or Bianca. They’re always on the lookout for new ideas and enthusiastic people who want to get involved and support this important part of our business.
And Finally....
Finally, if you don’t feel fit to attend work, whether you’re too tired, experiencing personal issues, or just not in the right headspace… please talk to your manager, SHEQ, or P&C. It’s always better to have that conversation early, rather than discovering it during an incident investigation. Your safety and wellbeing will always come first.
